Size 5X Coat

While I was talking with a new caller to Acts 4 who wanted to know when she could drop off some men's clothing, I was telling her a little about this ministry and how I had visited a woman in her home and delivered some clothing to her but that I did not have a 5X coat and that I never see those largest sizes donated. We were getting about 60 coats the next day and I was wishing to find one. Hearing my concern, she asked "Would you be able to get her one if I gave $50?" Amazed at this response I just blurted out "I'm sure I can."

The next day I don't think there was more than a few XL women's coats in that bunch. A week later when the woman came in she had a check written out to Acts 4 for the 5x coat. Locally I could not obtain one so I went online and found a place in MN, placed an order on Feb 15 and it was delivered to my home on the 20th. It's a winter coat that the salesperson who I spoke with told me could be worn comfortably in MN that day when it was 5 below zero. Total cost with shipping: $47.98!

I was going to deliver to her apartment today but tracked her down at Waterbury Hospital as she went into ER yesterday with a stomach flu and was hospitalized. She, of course, had no coat with her. Now she has one to wear home when discharged.

You should have seen her surprise and happiness! Thank You, God, for this experience.
